The shining light came down to earth
To make things new, to give us worth
To set us all apart
Amazing grace, unfading love
So undeserved, I don’t know how
Gives all a second start
My aim to trust His worthy name
More than the fortune and the fame
That lurk around my heart
When I embrace what not is right
I never knew or I lost sight
Of this transforming life
If I pull back and start to slither
What’s holy will soon start to wither
Fade meekly in the night
I’ll lift my eyes upon His face
